Isochaetides curvisetosus (Brinkhurst & Cook)
Recognition
The dorsal bundles with bifid or simple chaetae but no hairs.
The ventral chaetae behind 20 are solitary, sharply arcuate and larger the
opposing chaetae.
The spermathecal chaetae long, thin and parallel-sided.
Summary
Formerly in Psammoryctides and Peloscolex and
possibly the same as I. hamatus (Moore), which is the senior name.
A small tubificid (20 -25 mm).
It is not very common, but mainly found in small rocky streams.
It does not occur in eutrophic conditions.
Distribution
A nearctic species that is widespread, but mostly eastern.
