Rhynchelmis rostrata (Eisen)
Recognition
The prostomium terminates in a long proboscis and the chaetae are simple pointed like
Eclipidrilus daneus, but the atria lacks spiral muscles and
the spermahecae are in segment 8. It is most similar to
Rhynchelmis elrodi,
but the gonopores are single and penes are bulbous.
Summary
A large worm reaching about 100 mm.
Distribution
This species has not yet been seen in Montana.
It is a western nearctic species reported from California, Nevada and Wyoming.
