Introduction

This is a statistical model that is intended to back-calculate the daily air and stream temperatures for any location in Montana for any year between 1980 and 2000. It is not a mechanistic model for predicting future changes, but it might be useful in evaluating observed changes. Every attempt is being made to capture all significant sources of variation, while keeping the model as simple as possible.

Starting Options

Note: water tempertures are not available from the on-line model.
  1. Start a prediction for a known location.
You can use Graphical Locater for finding and converting coordinates.

  2. Start a prediction from a Montana Map.
Note: If you need a better map, use the HUC map to select any point within the right HUC, and then run the model and use the "Place point in HUC" function and refine your coordinate on the HUC map.
